Welcome to Engineering Research AB!

We are the official LSTC distributor of LS-DYNA in the Nordic Countries and the Baltic States. LS-DYNA is the state-of-the-art Finite Element program system for nonlinear problems.

We also distribute pre- and post-processors that are related to LS-DYNA as well as Finite Element crash dummy models.

In addition to providing software and support, we provide consultancy services. Engineering Research and it's team of highly qualified engineers can be a valuable partner all the way from the early design phase to product verification.

If you want to have a quick look at some of the business areas where we operate, just click the tabs on the left of this page.

Metal forming includes major manufacturing methods like

  • deep drawing
  • hydro forming
  • extrusion
  • powder compaction
  • machining
  • sintering
Today most metal forming processes can be simulated using our advanced Finite Element (FE) software.

Finite element simulation of the metal forming process is an important part of the tool design process. The results from a simulation guide the engineer in finding the best geometry and the correct materials. Simulations reduce the tool tryout time, shorten the lead time, and reduce the overall risk and cost associated with product developments. More information on metalforming can be found under Products and Consulting.

Engineering Research offers you the possibility to predict the mechanical behaviour of your product subjected to impact or shock loading. Short event loadings like shock and impact, can occur in all stages of the product service life, during manufacturing, packaging, transportation, service and/or normal usage.

The impact resistance can affect the service life of your product, and thus its safety and liability.

Engineering Research offers you the possibility to develop and improve your road side safety products by the use of computer simulations.

Crash simulation can be applied to all road side safety products, e.g. guardrails, bridge parapets, lighting columns, work zone barricades, TMA etc.

  • Complete vehicle to roadside crash simulation
  • Design of roadside products
  • Visualisation of crash scenarios

Engineering Research offers you the possibility to reconstruct vehicle collisions by the use of computer simulations. The simulations give:

  • A fast prediction of the damage of the vehicles and the positions of the vehicles before and after the impact event.
  • The damage of the vehicles is compared to the damage seen on similar crashed vehicles in a crash database.
  • If the predicted damage of the vehicles differs substantially from the real damage, it is possible to conclude that the accident could not have occurred as stated.

Engineering Research offers you the possibility to develop your crash safety products and components using computer simulations.

Our advanced crash simulation software has successfully been applied to all kind of vehicles, e.g. cars, trucks, trains, air planes, ships and space-crafts.

We can offer you:

  • Simulation based vehicle safety design
  • Airbag inflation simulations
  • Occupant simulations
  • Optimisation and Stochastic analyses
For more information, see Consulting

Structural analysis
We have an exceptionally long experience of simulation based analysis, design, and development. We are experts in non-linear simulations using the state-of-the-art software LS-DYNA. LS-DYNA makes real-life simulations possible of product qualification tests, accidents, and most other kinds of loading scenarios. Accurate predictions of the behaviour of the product in real-life situations can be made early in the design process. Thus improper designs can early be eliminated and an optimal design can efficiently be found.
