Engineering Research has a long experience in Finite Element (FE)
simulation of crash events. We offer you this experience for the purpose
of reconstructing vehicle collisions. We use the multi-body dynamics software
PC-CRASH. Whenever a detailed analysis of the vehicle damage or occupant injury
is needed, we also utilise the FE software LS-DYNA.
PC-CRASH is a collision
and trajectory simulation tool that enables analysis of a wide variety of vehicle
collisions. Results are viewed as 3D-animations and detailed reports, tables
and graphs can be produced.
A simulation using PC-Crash gives:
- A fast prediction of the vehicle damage and the
position of each vehicle after the impact event.
- The extent of the vehicle damage is compared to a database of
similar vehicles subjected to known crash events.
- If the predicted damage of the vehicles differs
substantially from the documented damage, it can be
concluded that the accident could not have occurred as
stated in the accident report.
